Jennifer Garner has been busy filming for the Arthur movie remake. The original was released in 1981, and the IMDB synopsis reads: “Arthur is a happy drunk with no pretensions at any ambition. He is also the heir to a vast fortune which he is told will only be his if he marries Susan. He does not love Susan, but she will make something of him the family expects. Arthur proposes but then meets a girl with no money who he could easily fall in love with.” In the remake, Russell Brand is playing Arthur, which appears to be a great fit for him. Jen is, of course, starring in the film alongside him. They’re currently filming in New York, so if you live in NY maybe you’ll have to opportunity to see them when you’re out and about.

In its opening weekend, The Invention of Lying came up in the 5th position in the box office. The movie grossed a total $7M in its opening weekend, trailing Zombieland, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Toy Store and Surrogates. Its lackluster opening is surprising when you take into consideration that there are few “chick flicks” currently out. Although, maybe people are saving up for next weekend’s Couples Retreat. Hopefully the new film, which stars Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner (of course), Tina Fey and Jonah Hill will perform better in the coming weeks. Fortunately for the studio, it was only a $18M budget so it doesn’t have to perform that well for it to be profitable.

Jennifer Garner has kept herself busy on the set of Valentine’s Day. The film is about couples and singles who break-up and make-up due to the pressures associated with the expectations of Valentine’s Day. The movies star-studded cast includes Jessica Alba, George Lopez, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Swift, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Biel, Emma Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, Anne Hathaway and even more! That’s by far the most A-list celebrities we’ve seen in a movie in recent memory. Look for Jennifer Garner’s Valentine’s Day to hit theaters early 2010 (obviously at Valentine’s Day).
